Der R5 ist legendär. Von der alles sprengenden R5CA bis zu Wout van Aerts Sieg auf dem Mont Ventoux ist der R5 seit über zwei Jahrzehnten Teil der Cervelo-Geschichte. Dieser brandneue R5 ist ein extrem leichtes Rennrad (5,97 kg in RED und Dura-Ace Ausführungen), das gleichzeitig steif genug ist, um auf höchstem Niveau im Profiradsport zu bestehen – wie Pauline Ferrand-Prevot bewies, als sie damit im Sommer bei der Tour de France Femmes gewann.

Es ist einfach, ein leichtes Rad zu bauen, aber eines, das steif genug ist, um schnell zu beschleunigen und die Kraft der stärksten Fahrer der Branche zu übertragen? Das ist eine ganz andere Herausforderung. Der R5 ist das Rad für große Tage in den Hochgebirgen der Tour de France und den extrem steilen Anstiegen der Vuelta a España. Für Berge gebaute Räder müssen nicht nur schnell beschleunigen und hervorragend klettern, sondern auch souverän und berechenbar bergab fahren. FEATURES:

• Just 5.97 Kg in Size 56: The new R5 in a size 56 builds up to just 5.97kg, a full 900 grams under the UCI’s minimum weight limit. The frame is just 651 grams (size 56), and the fork is 298 grams. In addition to the 100g reduction in frame/fork weight, we’ve turned our attention to every single component on the bike, for a total weight reduction of 326g from all Cervelo components.
• Race-Ready Fit Geometry: While the handling geometry on the new R5 is nearly the same (aside from a small change to BB drop to account for 29mm tires), we changed the fit geometry to match that of the S5. Whether you’re switching between the models like Team Visma|Lease A Bike or R5 is your only ride, you’ll be in a stronger position for the fastest group rides.
• One-Piece Handlebar/Stem: The all-new HB18 bar/stem not only dropped nearly 150 grams from the weight of the bike, but it also helps the bike be two Watts more aerodynamic than the previous R5. We applied learnings from the S5 handlebar to develop a comfortable, fast, and stiff handlebar, ideal for big days in the saddle and hard fights to the line. All bar sizes are UCI-legal, even in light of the most recent regulations change.
• Ultralight Reserve 34|37 SL Wheels: Designed specifically for R5, the all-new Reserve 34|37 SL wheelset helped us drop an additional 60 grams. The new wheels deliver the same strength and stiffness as the old ones, but we refined the layup to save weight without hampering performance.
